Product Mix and Output Algorithm Workshops

Link to DEFRA Paper CCA(01)08

For any site that might fail to meet the 1st Milestone Target, one of the most important ways of trying to avoid the loss of your CCL discount is to apply the Product Mix and Output Algorithm (PMOA).

The PMOA is a methodology that allows you to adjust your target if energy efficiency for the site has got worse for one of the following reasons:

  1. Output has fallen since the base year
  2. Product mix has changed and you make products with higher average energy intensity than in the base year.
See Information Sheet 20 for further details.

The Food and Drink Federation are pleased to present two workshops on the methodology of producing a Product Mix/Product Output Algorithm.

These one day workshops will look at the approach to developing an algorithm and present case studies to demonstrate how the algorithm can been derived. During the afternoon session, there will be an opportunity to raise site specific issues with our speakers.

The two workshops have been arranged for the 18th and 19th March 2002 in Coventry and Manchester respectively. To reserve a place on either workshop please contact our help line for booking information.

If the workshops become over-subscribed, additional workshops will be held at appropriate venues shortly after Easter.

We are happy to run these workshops in Northern Ireland or Scotland, however, we have not yet booked venues in these areas. If you would like to attend one of the workshops in Northern Ireland or Scotland, please register your interest with our help line team.
