Courses in the Future:

We hope to re-run the "How to Meet Food and Drink Industry Targets" and "Setting Up a Good M&T System" courses in February 2002. As before they will be based on one day of training delivered by two experienced trainers. Each course will include lectures, notes, case study sessions and a workshop element giving delegates the opportunity to discuss their own specific problems or requirements.

The course programmes are listed below. To express an interest about any of these courses please print out the training course enquiry form and fax it back to us. We can then send you further details of these courses when they are confirmed.

Training Courses

How to Meet Food and Drink Industry CCLA Targets

A one-day introductory course covering the requirements of a CCL Agreement, the basics of energy management and reviewing some of the technical measures that are most relevant to the food and drink sector.

After attending this course delegates will fully understand the mechanisms of a CCL Agreement, understand the how their targets can be met and how to develop a strategy that maximises their chances of success.

Setting Up a Good M&T System

A one day course covering the key elements of 'Monitoring & Targeting' including sub-metering, data collection and analysis, setting up energy teams, identifying and implementing improvement projects.

After attending this course, delegates will be able to specify an appropriate M&T system for their site. In particular they will be able to identify any increased metering that may be required, identify appropriate Energy Accountable Centres on the site and determine appropriate production variables that effect energy consumption. They will also understand the importance of energy teams and how to ensure that savings are made and maintained.

Evaluating CHP Opportunities - Trainers: Peter Cohen & Joe Flanagan

Most food and drink plants use steam to distribute heat to the process. This course explains the numerous ways in which steam usage can be reduced and boiler system efficiency improved.

How to Meet Food and Drink Industry CCA Targets

A one-day course covering the basics of CHP and explaining how to carry out the CHP evaluations that are required under a food and drink sector CCLA.

After attending this course delegates will be able to understand the different CHP options available, where they can be applied and how economic performance should be properly evaluated. They will be able to carry out an initial site evaluation on the feasibility of CHP in accordance with the CCLA requirements using the DEFRA methodology.
