1 INTRODUCTION

These Guidance Notes are intended to help companies in the craft bakery industry become Participants in the Master Bakers Climate Change Levy Discount Scheme. This Scheme will enable eligible facilities to obtain an 80% discount on the Climate Change Levy (CCL). The CCL comes into force on April 1st 2001.

The main body of these Guidance Notes summarises key aspects of the Master Bakers Climate Change Levy Discount Scheme. More detailed advice is given in a set of Master Bakers Information Sheets included in this Information Pack. The Information Pack is in loose-leaf format to enable us to send you updates and further advice over the life of the Scheme.
